ACCESSIBILITY
The Weekly Wally aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2, at level AA.
Current accessibility features
- Selectable text rather than text contained only in page images.
- Semantic headings, landmarks and navigation.
- A skip link to the main content.
- Visible keyboard focus.
- Descriptive alternative text for editorial images.
- High contrast and readable text sizing.
- A logical mobile and screen-reader reading order.
Known limitations
- The archive is still being completed.
- Some older issues have not yet been converted to accessible HTML.
- Videos are hosted by YouTube and inherit YouTube’s accessibility behaviour.
- The site has not yet been tested across every browser and assistive-technology combination.
