STARMEROIDS SINGER LEFT OUT OF CARE TALKS
Chamber Records artist attempts to join high-level discussion through a window.
The Chamber Records recording artist and former Cameo star Nigel Farage, best known to readers as co-vocalist on the Starmeroids single ‘Where’s the Clacton Man?’, was left disappointed this week after failing to secure an invitation to the Prime Minister’s cross-party talks on social care.
Mr Farage, a familiar face from numerous Starmeroids productions, attempted to contribute to the discussion from the pavement outside, addressing the assembled figures through a ground-floor window. Those inside, understood to include the Liberal Democrat and Conservative representatives, are said to have continued their meeting without interruption.
It later emerged that Mr Farage also holds a position in national politics, and is currently a candidate in the Clacton by-election, having previously served as the constituency’s Member of Parliament. During his time in that role he is understood to have earned the best part of a year’s parliamentary salary recording personalised video messages for members of the public.
Colleagues noted the poignancy of the scene. The artist who once asked the nation ‘Where’s the Clacton Man?’ was, this week, himself somewhat difficult to account for, being neither in Parliament nor in the room, but on the other side of the glass.
At the time of going to press, Mr Farage remained outside.
